Announcing Dr. Kristen Nelson's 2012 Animal Charity Grant

First, congratulations to the 2011 Animal Charity Grant winner:

Spay Neuter Project of Los Angeles

Animals transform us!  Animal and wildlife charities in any of the 50 United States have until March 31st, 2012 to apply for this year's grant.  Have Kristen Nelson, D.V.M., speak at no cost on behalf of your animal non-profit.  Dr. Nelson is a veterinarian, speaker and the author of Coated With Fur: A Vet's Life.  She is frequently quoted in the media.  Her credits include Ladies' Home Journal, USA Today, the Los Angeles Times, Disneyfamily.com, radio and television.  She is a member of the American Association of Human-Animal Bond Veterinarians.  Dr. Nelson started this annual grant in 2011 in celebration of World Veterinary Year.  The grant application is deliberately simple and quick.  The winning charity gets to have her for an event and her speech: "Embrace Animals and Improve the Love In Your Life!"  A demo video is available by clicking the speaking tab on this website.

Rules - The grant request must come from the Executive Director.  Applications may not exceed 1,000 words describing your organization, the intended audience e.g., major donors, volunteers, staff and/or the public, and the number of people expected to attend (think big - let's do something great for animals in your community).  It is acceptable though not required, to pull many organizations together for a community-wide event.  For example, a community foundation may apply for this non-profit grant on behalf of several animal charities.  Partnering among charities and even for-profit organizations like bookstores are permitted as long as animal non-profit(s) are the principal beneficiary.  Applications should address the media and marketing strategy to maximize our impact for animals and your organization(s).

Again, this grant is open to animal charities in all 50 of the United States!  Veterinary Creative, LLC will bear all costs for speaking fees, travel, lodging etc. for Dr. Nelson to appear.  Should you wish to have Dr. Nelson sign books as part of the event, a portion of book sales will be donated to your non-profit.

Grant applications are accepted until March 31, 2012.  Questions and applications should be directed to:  drnelson@veterinarycreative.com or by mail,
